Mondays Horseracing Tips, 9 November

It was a brilliant weekend at the Breeders’ Cup and yesterday, though not much of a price, Get Out Of Here confirmed that he is a decent horse in the making and one I fully expect to see at Cheltenham in March. The flat season is over so the next few months are all about jumps and all-weather racing which is what we have on offer on Monday; two jumps and one all-weather meeting. Carlisle is where my attention will be focused, despite the heavy going as well as Southwell where I am interested in a hurdle débutante.

1:55 Carlisle, Roll Along, Win (NAP)

Roll Along (13:55) isa decent horse over hurdles, boasting a handicap mark of 160 and exceptionally high class form. He makes his debut today for the Twiston-Davies yard, formally being with Carl Llewellyn, over fences which he last tackled when finishing fourth in a grade one chase in Ireland and was sixth to Kauto Star in the Gold Cup before that. On official ratings he has seventeen pounds in hand and I see no reason why he will not open his account for his new trainer at the first time of asking with Graham Lee taking the ride. Looking at the early prices on offer on Betfair I am rubbing my eyes. Am I missing something? Roll Along should be longs odds on, in my view.He goes well fresh and should hack up here.

2:45 Southwell- Holoko Heights, Win

Michael Owen was in London with Manchester United on Sunday, seeing Chelsea beat them 1-0 in an important Premier League match so I doubt he will be minded to venture toSouthwell to watch his horse Holoko Heights (14:45) make his hurdling debut. Now in the care of Tim Vaughan, formerly with Nick Vaughan, he has modest form on the flat but  as we know Tim Vaughan likes to get them fit for their first run and has a record of improving horses beyond belief. The booking of Richard Johnson is eye-catching here and there are whispers already that this is one to be on first time out on a very fair course.

Tuesdays Horseracing Tips, 4th August

There is no evening racing, in the UK, on Tuesday with three meetings making it a busy afternoon. The flat action comes from Chepstow and Catterick and the action over the sticks comes from Newton Abbot. We have a bet at each of those venues for you to get on.

52972649JH001_Bath

4.40 Chepstow- Penitent, Win

Penitent (4.40) was a well backed maiden winner last time out at Newmarket, a performance that earned a mark of 84. The well bred three year-old has already been gelded which should ensure a focused approach to this, his handicap debut.  There is sure to be improvement from this lightly raced son of Kyllachy and his mark may prove to be favourable and with William Haggas having a good season, winning with one in five runners, I make Penitent my best bet of the day.

4.20 Catterick- Obe Gold, Win

Obe Gold (4.20) makes his debut in this modest Catterick claimer for Deborah Mountain. The stable has a poor strike rate, only 11% for the season and is short of winning form but Obe Gold will be fit from being with Dandy Nicholls. The old boy has won his last two races and was claimed by the trainer, in whose colours he runs, after a good win at Catterick over five furlongs. The hat-trick is on the cards and I fancy him to do so, with Jimmy Quinn taking over riding duties. If Obe Gold fails to win then we can justifiable label the stable as one that can’t buy a winner!

5.00 Newton Abbot- Arctic Shadow, Win

Tim Vaughan is proving himself to be an excellent trainer and is one who some fellow trainers dread him getting one of their former inmates. Arctic Shadow (5.00) is one of those to have shown significant improvement since joining the Welsh trainer. Three runs so far have yielded three wins and as we saw last season with Little Shilling Vaughan can get plenty of improvement out of horses and run up a big winning sequence. Having won well last time at Bangor the handicapper has raised him ten pounds but that may not hold him back. Richard Johnson is becoming a regular pilot for the stable and he takes the ride, having been on board on all three previous wins for the yard.

Vaughan could have a double with Zafar (4.00) looking nailed on to win.

Mondays Horseracing Tips, 27th July

With a fantastic week in front of us at Glorious Goodwood and at Galway, having had a fantastic weekend, with big winners at York, then today is a good time to take a breather and get ready for much better racing than you will find on offer on Monday. I certainly am not interested in anything on the flat today, there are three uninspiring meetings and the jumps card at Uttoxeter offers a couple of sdecent bets. Racing Diary have more Free Horseracing Betting Tips for you for Monday.

6.15 Uttoxeter- Rhinestone Ruby, Win

Last time out at Worcester, you may recall, I advised Rhinestone Ruby (6.15) and she reappears this evening at Uttoxeter in a mares novice hurdle. She will have to concede seven pounds to her rivals but i think she can do so and will have a small bet on her to get the better of Tony McCoy’s mount, Souixsanna Vic.

8.55 Uttoxeter- Danimix, Win (NAP)

The bet of the day runs in the bumper where Danimix (8.55) is looking to follow up his excellent Worcester win for the excellent Tim Vaughan. I backed the second, Budwiser, that day having been told it was a very well fancied horse. The first two pulled well clear of the field, with Budwiser finishing 16 lengths in front of the field except Danimix who got his measure by seven lengths. This is a very decent sort and should readily win this, I only hope we get a decent price!

Monday’s Bets at Uttoxeter

6.15 Rhinestone Ruby
8.55 Danimix (NAP)

Tuesday’s Horseracing Tips, 21st July

It is a real struggle today, not the best day for punting and if you were going to take a day away from racing this week, Tuesday would be the ideal candidate.

Ffos Las stages it’s first flat meeting today, which will be interesting. Of course we know noting about any draw or track biases and I prefer to wait and see how things go before punting at the new venue.

Well handicapped jumper for us today....

5.15 Yarmouth – Silver Prelude, Win

Silver Prelude (5.15) was a good winner last week over course and distance and teams up again with Kevin Shea in a bid for a double. The six pounds penalty shouldn’t inconvenience the eight year-old whose seven career wins have all come over the minimum trip. On a difficult day Silver Prelude represents one of the better bets of the day and my only flat wager of the day.

6.30 Bangor- Arctic Shadow, Win

Arctic Shadow (6.30) is looking to land a quick hat-trick within the space of a few days. Richard Johnson has won twice for the stable aboard the seven year old who is looking to maintain his 100 percent record for his new trainer. The quick reappearance indicates that Tim Vaughan must think he has a very well handicapped horse on his hands and as we saw with Little Shilling he knows how to maximise opportunities when he has. It would be a surprise were this one not to win today.

Evas Request can Follow-up at Pontefract…

Eva's Request Wins at Epsom on Saturday

Evas Request Wins at Epsom on Saturday

Pretty poor stuff this afternoon. Its grass cutting and shopping for me, but it gets better this evening with Windsor and Pontefract. Two pretty decent cards it has to be said. We will focus purely on the evening racing.

At Pontefract…

The best race of the day is at Pontefract at 8.20. The Listed fillies Pipalong Stakes has attracted a field of 9 and Evas Request looks the best bet of the day. She ran and won well at Epsom on Saturday, this looks like an easier race for her assuming she has come out of the race fine. If she lines up then Mick Channon will think she is fine, which is good enough for me. Eva’s request is a good horse in a good race and is the best bet of the day. Back Evas Request to win the 8.20 at Pontefract.

Evas Request is looking pretty short. I took 1.93 when the market opened on Betfair, not for much though. I think Eva’s request is still value at 1.7.

At Windsor…

At Windsor I will be backing Heroes (7.30) who is looking to follow-up his Brighton Handicap win where he ran out a good winner. He is up only 2 pounds for that and should run well again. Surprisingly Heroes is a pretty decent price, I have taken 5/1 this morning and at that price he becomes an each-way bet. Tim Vaughan has his string in good order and showed he has heroes spot on last time. Vaughan  has shown he can get a string of wins from horses he gets from others, notably Little Shilling over the jumps. The advice is to back Heroes Each Way in the 7.30 at Windsor.

There is not much else to get excited about today. The cricket 2020 cup continues and we will look at who could win the first ever world cup. The Super 8 phase is where it gets serious!

Sunday’s Horseracing Tips…

Tin Vaughan to land Treble?

Tim Vaughan To Raid Spoils at Wetherby…

Following the final day of the jumps season yesterday at Sandown, today sees the start of the 2009/10 season at Ludlow and Wetherby. Tim Vaughan’s Pant Wilkin Stables near Cowbridge in Glamorgan is a fair way away from the West Yorkshire track but he sends three runners on the long journey, all of which have leading chances.

Vaughan could score in the first three races and complete a 100% strike rate today. Jimbatai (2.20) should take the very moderate looking opening Maiden Hurdle. Jimbatai is having it’s first start for Vaughan whose rack record with horses making their debut for the yard in excellent. This one should win. If you back Jimbatai with Betfair you can do so at 2.08. The Odds against will not last long! Jimbatai is my bet of the day and should be backed early!

Apocalozzo (2.50) looks booked for the winners enclose and should complete a quick double following his win at Southwell a couple of days ago. Not much of a price but I can not see him Being beaten.

Nina Carberry is at Wetherby for the lady amateur riders race, taking the ride aboard Vaughan’s Heroes (3.25). I never bet in these races but the market suggests this could complete the treble for the trainer.

Jimbatai is the one to be on, I would not be surprised to see the money pour in on this one today.  The flat racing is at Brighton, a tricky course for horses with the camber. I was looking to Lay Rydale Ovation (4.55) but the price is too big at 8.4, so I will let this one pass.

Quiet day but get on Jimbatai (2.20 Wetherby) and take the early price on Betfair. Get a £25 Free bet when You Do so.
