The big betting move of the day was for Zenyatta in the Breeders’ Cup Classic. The girl of the moment has proved popular with British punters, and Hills were forced to cut her odds to 7-2 from 4-1 for the big Saturday race.

Sir Michael Stoute’s trio all breezed seven-furlongs on the turf course at Santa Anita, with 5-4 Turf favourite Conduit drawing favourable comments on his appearance from watchers at Clockers’ Corner. Marathon contender Man of Iron continued his run up the betting order, now available at 7-1 from 8-1, whilst Midday was cut to 3/1 from 10/3 for the Filly and Mare Turf.
