Vuvuzelas At Ascot

Royal Ascot is the height of fashion, or so they say but this is taking it too far, a Vuvuzela hat….dreadful….. they should have been thrown out for bad taste.

World cup fever hits Ladies' day at Royal Ascot

Royal Ascot is the showcase for society and for good taste, it is what makes Britain great. There is no place for attention seeking bad taste hats like this. They stop people seeing the racing and they are there for nothing more than getting photgraphed.

Throw them out! There is no place for the bloody Vuvuzeal at Ascot.

Godolphin can win at Royal Ascot

2:30 Royal Ascot, the Jersey Stakes, Shakespearean, Win

It is interesting to see Rainfall competing here, illustrating the high regard Mark Johnston has for this colt. He could run a big race with Ryan Moore an interesting jockey booking in my view. However Godolphin had been out of form and Shakespearean was a welcome winner of the Surrey Stakes at Epsom.Watch the Surrey Stakes, click Here. This is a good Royal Ascot betting event, the Jersey Stakes, and I think it is Frankie Dettori who holds all the aces here.

Officially rated the best horse in the race, he should be up to winning this competitive Group Three contest. SHAKESPEAREAN to win the Jersey Stakes.

3:05 Royal Ascot, Windsor Forest Stakes, Strawberrydaiquiri, Win.

Antara could be anything as the saying goes for Godolphin but we know that Strawberrydaiquiri is tough, durable and above all consistent. 7 carrer starts have yielded five wins and in her last run she has Spacious soundly beaten. Antara beat Reggane last time out but that one was given far too much to do and a better ride would have won the race. Ryan Moore will not give Dettori the space up front that he relishes and for me STRAWBERRYDAIQUIRI is an excellent bet to win the Windsor Forest Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Twice Over can win at Royal Ascot

3:50 Royal Ascot, Prince Of Wales’s  Stakes, Twice Over, Win (Group One)

The big race of the day is the Group One Prince Of Wales’s Stakes in which Twice Over can provide another Royal Ascot winner for Henry Cecil. Twice Over is a serious horse who didn’t deliver the goods in the World Cup but is a genuine Group One Performer. I think he can win this with the excellent Tom Queally in the saddle. He won the Champion Stakes at Newmarket and had Mawatheeq behind in second. TWICE OVER is the one for me here.
totesport.com

4:25 Royal Ascot, The Royal Hunt Cup, Dandy Boy, Win

This honestly wouldn’t be a huge bet for me, but with Mabait out of Royal Ascot I do fancy Dandy Boy, the Victoria Cup winner. Mabait would have gained revenge I feel, but we will never know. The Royal Hunt Cup is always a hard race, possibly the hardest puzzle of Royal Ascot to solve. Keep stakes to a minimum is my view.

5:00 Royal Ascot, The Queen Mary Stakes, Primo Lady, Win

I saw PRIMO LADY win at York and thought she might be decent. The face that she is trained by Gay Kellaway is good news for value seekers as if she was trained by Richard Hannon she would be half her current odds oin the Royal Ascot Betting. That listed win at York is decent and at a big price, in a race of so many unknowns, backing this filly  is good value. I advise a win and place, or each-way in old money. Primo Lady for me for value in the Queen Mary Stakes.

I think I will leave early on Wednesday, the last race looks an impossible puzzle to solve. A great day of racing at Royal Ascot, betting of the highest quality. Can we have another winner today?

Saturdays Free Horseracing Tips, 12 June

There is never much going on just before Royal Ascot. The best of the action today comes from York and Sandown, I will be at York for the day before watching England take on USA in the World Cup tonight. Should be a great day.

Free Royal Ascot Betting Tips

Royal Ascot Bettiing Tips and Podcast from Racing Diary

Racing Diary will be here with daily free horseracing tips and Royal Ascot Betting podcasts. It starts on Tuesday and I can’t wait, it will be a wonderful week, with Racing and Football, why would you go to work? Come on England tonight. Here are your Free Horseracing Tips for Saturday; a quiet day it has to be said;

1:45 Sandown REVERED can provide another winner for Sir Michael Stoute who won The Derby last week with Workforce. Revered may not be a Workforce but he certainly looks an exciting prospect. He is is related to the smart pair Promising Lead and Visit and will surely improve with age and prove better than this initial mark of 85. Lightly raced he could very well be a handicap good thing here today, for a stable who are in great form at present too.

3:30 Sandown BURNING THREAD is a nice horse trained in Malton by Tim Etherington. He sprung a surprise at Beverley in a race that Mister Hughie would have won easily if he had stood up. Nonetheless, it was a taking performance from the gelding whose dam was related to a high class sprinter and I think he can follow up with a win here for a stable who knows how to handle sprinters.

Get ready for Royal Ascot folks! No Bets on Sunday.

Thursdays Free Horseracing Tips, 10 June

Free Horseracing Tips

By Carl Harris

It was a good day on Wednesday and now we move closer to the weekend and the start of the World Cup, with Royal Ascot next week. I am looking forward to both events immensely. It is also York on Friday and Saturday, so plenty to look forward to.

World Cup fever is building, we are only a day away from the kick off. England on Saturday, will it be worth the wait?

Here are your free horseracing tips for Thursday; I will focus on Newbury today, it is where the best racing is including the Ballymacoll Stud Stakes, a Listed contest for fillies.

3:05 Newbury Eleanora Duse was third in The Musidora Stakes at York. I think she is still learning and can step up on that with dual Classic winner Ryan Moore in the saddle. Eleanora Duse finished one-and-a-half lengths ahead of Pink Symphony when the pair finished behind Aviate at York in the Musidora last month. There is no obvious reason why she  should reverse those placings. I think Elenora Duse may offer up a bit of value.

Royal Ascot Bettiing Tips and Podcast from Racing Diary

5:20 Newbury Yashrid somehow managed somehow to get up at Ripon last time out to continue the amazing run of the Michael jarvis stable who has a near 30% strike rate for the season. The step up in trip might help him find the 5lbs improvement that he needs to win again but you can’t argue with the form of the stable. William Buick takes the ride which can only be a positive.

Thats it for today, tomorrow we will do a full look at York. Good luck.

Wednesdays Horseracing Tips, 9 June

Wednesday, only a couple of days away from the World Cup kick off. We have your free horseracing tips for Wednesday.

Free Royal Ascot Betting Tips

Royal Ascot Bettiing Tips and Podcast from Racing Diary

Royal Ascot is less than a week away and Mabait will miss the Hunt Cup it was revealed yesterday. Goldikova is the one I have backed for the match with Paco Boy, two horses I love. Can’t wait, World Cup and Royal Ascot, what a week. With so much great horseracing ahead, this week is the calm before the storm.

So here is todays free horseracing tips; Its another moderate day, take it steady, hopefully these free tips will win;

2:10 Yarmouth Leiba Leiba, may not be a get rich quick sort of price, but I will be a backer. Leiba Leiba is a strange name to say the least but ran well on debut I thought at Nottingham in an average looking  maiden then ran with credit at Lingfield. This is not a good race so the selection may not have to improve in order to win.
totesport.com
3:40 Yarmouth Collect Art, can land the hat-trick for Michael Bell and Hayley Turner. I think this is the best bet of the day, an improving sort who I think won a ‘shade cosily’ to coin a phrase,  over course and distance last time out. There should be more in the tank and I think he can complete his hat-trick. Best bet of the day.

3:50 Haydock Seafarer, Brian Meehan’s colt won first time out, remember we do take note of Meehan;s first time out winners. He was ponied to the start at Bath on debut but won readily. The form looks moderate, but the Meehan horses always come on for their first starts. This one cost a mere 175,000 guineas as a two-year-old so if he can’t win this then value for money may be called in to question.

There you have it! Free horseracing tips for Wednesday from Racing Diary.

Royal Ascot Only A Week Away

2000 Guineas Betting

Canford Cliffs Irish 2000 Guineas Winner

We will see some seriously good horses running at Royal Ascot 2010. Richard Hannon, trainer of Canford Cliffs believe he is unlikely to be inconvenienced by going round a bend for the first time in Royal Ascot‘s St James’s Palace Stakes. he also trains Paco Boy and is equally confident mood ahead of Royal Ascot‘s ‘race of the week’ – the Queen Anne Stakes.

Tuesdays Free Horseracing Tips, 8 June

Tuesday, never my favourite day but at least we have Royal Ascot in a couple of weeks time, which we will be podcasting free horseracing tips each and every day, in association with bookmakers Totesport.com

Free Royal Ascot Betting Tips

Royal Ascot Bettiing Tips and Podcast from Racing Diary

I can’t wait for Royal Ascot and The World Cup, but for today your free horseracing tips will come from much lower grade cards. Todays cards are from Salisbury, Redcar, Bangor and Southwell. Thrilling stuff! Nevertheless here are your free horseracing tips for Tuesday;

Long day at Salisbury with eight races which will be run on rock hard ground. The best race there is the fillies handicap;

4:30 Salisbury On Her Way won by a mere ten lengths at Yarmouth last time out and I have to say that a mark of 75 looks pretty fair. She will have learnt much at Yarmouth and as we say regularly Henry Cecil is the best trainer of a filly of all and this filly can add to his impressive total of winners. Pat Cosgrave is given the leg up in what looks a competitive race but I think On Her Way may be a well handicapped filly here.
totesport.com

3:35 Redcar Charlie Cool can land a hat-trick for the in form Ruth Carr stable. A good trainer, Carr has had five winners in the last couple of weeks, a run that kicked off a couple of weeks ago when Charlie Cool won at Ripon. Robert Winston keeps the ride and I think that the three timer will be landed here. Charlie Cool is my best bet of the day.

Its a £2 Billion Summer Sport Betting Frenzy

“Sports mad Brits have never had it so good” was the prediction of bookmakers today, who expect more than £2billion to be bet over June and July on the busiest schedule of sport ever known.

World Cup Betting Tips

England play in World CUp

With £50million expected to be wagered on Saturday’s Epsom Derby, the bookies fear another win for the hot favourite Jan Vermeer and top Irish duo Aiden O’Brian and Johnny Murtagh will paint them in to a corner for the summer.

But the Derby pales in to insignificance compared to the FIFA World Cup in South Africa starting on June 11th, where more than £1billion is expected to be gambled on all the individual matches. Fans of England, currently 13-2 third favourites behind Spain and Brazil are desperately hoping Fabio Capello’s men can end their forty-four years of hurt, while Irish, Scottish, and Welsh fans will be hoping their World Cup drought continues. Racing Diary will be here with daily audio World Cup podcasts with Bookmakers YouWin.com

The supporting card for the summer is sizzling. Five days of Royal Ascot (June 15-19) will generate another £500m, quickly followed by Wimbledon SW19, where Murray mania will be another multi-million pound hangover for bookies.We will also be doing Royal Ascot Podcasts every day, with expert Horseracing Tips from betting experts.

Tiger Woods, arguably the best known sportsman in the world, will be aiming to win his first major tournament since his comeback when he ventures over to St. Andrews in Scotland for the British Open in July, whilst the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button will battle out at British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Cricket fans have both the Ashes and the test series against Pakistan to enjoy.

Free Betting Tips

British Grand Prix at Silverstone

The summer of sport is set to boost a raft of businesses from memorabilia makers to the brewing industry, but Britain’s bookmakers are dreading a summer of British Success.

David Hood, Director of Public Relations for William Hill, said “It’s a double-edged sword for the bookies. On one hand we are rubbing our hands in anticipation of the biggest two months in the history of sport for the betting industry.” He continued, “On the other we know that a string of British success or fancied contenders could be our worst nightmare. Put all the ingredients together from the Epsom Derby, the World Cup, Wimbledon, Royal Ascot, the British Open, the British Grand Prix et al – and we expect that betting mad Brits will turnover in excess of £2 billion this summer.”

Of course, if you’re not interested in sport, then one thing you could do is top up your tan. The met office are expecting temperatures to sore during the months of June and July, and bookies William Hill are offering odds of just 5-1 for the temperature in Britain to soar over 100F. So whether you’re a sports fanatic or a tan fan– it should be a sizzling hot summer!

If you enjoy sport and betting then it promises to be an exciting Summer with Racing Diary.
