Rafa Benitez has left Liverpool

Will Benetiz’ Exit Now Open the Exit Doors and Cause a Mass Exodus?

The money today has been for Kenny Dalglish who has been cut from 8/1 TO 3/1 third favourite to be the next permanent LIVERPOOL MANAGER with Martin O’Neil 9/4 FAV & Roy Hodgeson 5/2 second favourite. That said Kenny Dalglish is 7/4 to be caretaker coach.

Bookmakers are also betting on the departure of a number of key players with Stephen Gerrard & Fernando Torres 5/6 each to follow Benitez out of the door. Jose Mourinho is an admirer of both players, now installed at Real Madrid.

The odds suggest that there could be a mass exodus of the top players and our odds suggest that Steven Gerrard could be on the way out of Liverpool.

WILLIAM HILL have opened a book on which of the ‘Big 4 Bosses’ will leave his club first, and on when one of the four will eventually depart – making Rafa Benitez and 2010 respectively the favourites.

‘WITH ALL OF THE BIG Four Clubs and their bosses beginning to feel a little pressure, either from fans because of their own performances on behalf of their clubs, or by the shadow of Big 4 wannabes like Man City, Spurs, Villa and Everton closing in on their private club of four, it feels as though an era may be drawing to a close’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe. ‘We think Rafa is in genuine danger of departing by the end of the season, and one or two of his Big 4 counterparts clearly can’t go on much longer as they are already rivalling the Rolling Stones for longevity. The betting on whether the Big 4 will still dominate the Top 4 at the end of the season or not is also very close’.

Punters Pile Agony on Rafa Benitez

Life’s A Beach for Rafa Benitez with punters responding to Liverpool’s worst run of form in 22 years with a wide variety of betting requests speculating on the manager’s demise.

Responding to the range of requests Paddy Power are offering 10/1 that Liverpool’s crunch game against arch rivals Manchester United on Sunday is Rafa’s last game in charge of the Anfield outfit
. Liverpool are also now just 4/11 to fail to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League and 11/8 not to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season. Benitez himself is odds on not to survive the season at 8/11.

Meanwhile Benitez is the name being backed in Paddy Power’s Sack Race having come in from 18/1 prior to the weekend loss to Sunderland.

Paddy Power said: “Rafa being backed into 3/1 from 18/1 to be the next manager to go may not suggest he’s definitely on his way but it certainly reflects the immense pressure he is under with fans now widely speculating on his demise across many different markets.”

Next Manager

Punters are even revisiting the market on next Liverpool manager with former Kop king Kenny Dalglish the 13/5 favourite ahead of Jose Mourinho at 4/1. Jurgen Klinsmann, who just happened to be in the Sky Sports studio commenting on Liverpool’s loss to Lyons last night, is 9/1.

Liverpool Lengthen for Sunday Showdown

Things could yet get worse for Rafa with the visit of champions Man Utd this weekend. Liverpool are 7/4 from 8/5 to win the game, one of the biggest odds seen on a Liverpool home win, whilst an old name let go by Benitez could yet come back to haunt him. If Michael Owen – returning to Anfield in United colours for the first time – scores the last goal of the game Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match.
