Farewell To SunTalk

I have been privileged to appear on SunTalk for the last 18 months, and today The Sun has announced it will not be proceeding with the SunTalk Radio project. A real shame.

I have massively enjoyed working with Jon Gaunt, his producer Sam Gregory and assistant producer Phil Porter. A great set of lads and I am sure we will hear from them very soon!

I spent a week with the boys this year at Cheltenham, it was a great week and the coverage that SunTalk had throughout the World Cup with Big Ron and Terry Christian was amazing, some of the best sports radio I have heard for years.

I reckon we haven’t heard the last of Gaunty! Watch this space!

The snow has arrived and has forced Ascot to call off their Friday card. They take a look at 4pm ahead of the excellent card on Saturday. They have covers on the course so all hope is not lost. If it does go ahead then we have some great racing to watch.

The football is also exciting. Last Saturday was just a bookies benefit, so hopefully the results will be better this week. Below are the fixtures and predicted outcomes in bold.

Have a good weekend!

I won’t be on Suntalk today due to a hospital appointment. Out of luck yesterday on the horses and Arsenal let us down for a treble on the football. I think we will have a winner today with two very strong bets on the flat and over jumps. We have some very good info for the all-weather meeting at Southwell. The Nicky Henderson yard is in great form and should win at Exeter.

Suntalk Tips for  Thursday 17 December

  • 3:00 Southwell, Mozayada- Win

Another good day on the track, Folkstone was called off but Youngstown won very easily and landed a decent touch for those taking the advised each-way odds, which saw him returned at an amazing 9/4.

The racing at the weekend is simply spectacular with Ascot staging a major card. Today there is a good card at Newbury.

There is also another big night of Premier League football with Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City all in action.

Don’t forget to listen to Suntalk to get the best previews and reviews for all the Premier League fixtures.

Just one bet on Monday and it duly bolted up. Noun De La Thinte drifted to a decent 2/1 in price too.

On Tuesday the cards are pretty uninspiring, to say the least. Jumping at Catterick and Folkstone and all-weather action at Southwell is on the menu today. I can’t wait!

There is a busy night of Premier League football tonight, hopefully the results will go more to plan than on Saturday which was a bookies benefit.

We will be live with Gaunty with the following odds.

Here are todays odds and tips;

Horseracing

We have a great weekend of Sport and TV ahead of us. Yesterday was just huge bad luck with a last fence faller that looked all over the winner.

Cheltenham kicks off with two days of top class racing, The big race tomorrow is the BoyleSports Gold Cup as well as some really good hurdle races. I think Nicholls and Walsh could have a big weekend with a host of winners.

Football is as usual exciting.  It doesn’t get any easier for Liverpool who face Arsenal on Sunday at home. Can they get a result? In my book Arsenal are the value bet of the weekend.
