Pride of Dulcote has been installed as the 13/8 favourite by totesport for the Hennessy Gold Cup at Leopardstown on Sunday after 11 horses were left in the race at the latest declaration stage. Horseracing Ante-Post Update….
Paul Nicholls’ eight-year-old hasn’t been seen since narrowly beating Punchestowns in a Graduation Chase at Newbury last time out.
“Pride Of Dulcote has made a huge impression over fences despite only having two starts over the larger obstacles and could easily go into the Cheltenham Gold Cup as a live contender if he lands the Hennessy at Leopardstown on Sunday,” said totesport spokesman George Primarolo.
Last year’s winner and runner-up also lock horns in the shape of Joncol and Cooldine and they are next in the market at 11/4 and 6/1 respectively. Money Trix is a 7/1 shot whilst Kempes is a point longer at 8/1.

Paddy Power has also opened a book on Sunday’s Grade 1 Deloitte Novice Hurdle and installed Zaidpour as 15-8 favourite.
Noel Glynn’s Old McDonald, who won a Naas maiden hurdle under Robbie Power on soft/heavy ground last month, is an 11-1 shot.
The Clare conjurer said: “The Deloitte is the plan and I’m hoping that the ground will be better. I think that he will be better on better ground, although he’ll run on anything.
“We will find out if he is good enough to go to Cheltenham for either the Neptune or Albert Bartlett Novice Hurdles. Robbie said that we should go for the three-mile one and Sunday will tell us a lot. It looks a good race with the likes of Shot From The Hip and So Young in there. But Old McDonald is the best I’ve ever had or will have, although that still might not make him that good a horse as I haven’t had many good ones!”
