Clean Up Racing…Don’t Make Me Laugh!

Cheat Fergal Lynch allowed to continue as a Jockey…Pathetic!

Cheat- Fergal Lynch

The British Horseracing Authority have confirmed punishments handed out to Darren Williams and Fergal Lynch following a disciplinary hearing. As expected Williams has been suspended from riding for three months while Fergal Lynch, currently riding in America, has agreed to pay a £50,000 and not apply for a licence to ride in this country for 12 months. He will be able to continue riding in the USA.

Williams admitted passing information for reward on five occasions and accepted that he had breached the rules in associating with a disqualified person in Miles Rodgers, who along with trainer Karl Burke will learn his fate in the near future. The hearing focused on 12 races during a five-month period in 2004 and the operation of various betting accounts allegedly held by Rodgers. All the horses concerned were ridden by Williams or Lynch while five were trained by Burke, who saddled his first Group One winner in France on Sunday.

Racing Diary Says…

What a Joke! Fergal Lynch is a cheat, a crook and along with his crooked mates like Myles Rogers has made lots of money defrauding punters and stopping horses purely for profit when laid on the Exchanges. First the prosecution of this group was a farce and they got off. Then despite having catagoric proof, in the shape of voice recordings, that we all heard on BBC, that Lynch stopped horses the BHA has NOT banned Lynch and he can ride in America for 12 months.

He has agreed to pay £50,000. What if he made double, treble or more than that by cheating? The BHA are saying, give us some of your ill gotten gains and we won’t say anything more about it!

Surely if you cheat then you should be banned for life?

How are they ever going to clean up racing when they act in secret and also do not punish cheats. These people cheated punters, people who bet on horses for fun and they need to know that the BHA will not tolerate cheating. There are jockeys who may think, if I can make a serious money cheating then I am likely to only get a fine.

Fergal Lynch and his cheating mates should be banned and banned for life. How can the BHA seriously say they are getting tough and act so lamely. The media are hardly likely to get be critical of the BHA. The coverage of Henderson was blown out of all proportion for headlines. He was fined £40,000 and suspended for 3 months. What Lynch has done is criminal and he gets to pay a fine from his ill gotten gains.

As a punter it makes me sick that cheats can sit on horses that punters will be putting money on and despite being bang to rights they are not banned at all, never mind a life ban which is what they deserve.
