FA Cup Final Preview, Saturday 15 May

John Terry hopes to play in the FA Cup final on Saturday after a scan showed no broken bone in his right foot. Chelsea look for their first ever double, all they have to do is beat Portsmouth.

The Chelsea skipper hurt his foot in training on Wednesday morning, leading to fears that he may have broken a metatarsal, but a scan has revealed no major problem. Terry said in a statement: “I took a slight knock in training but with such an important match on Saturday the right course of action was to put a protective boot on my right foot and have a CT scan.

Its top v bottom, Chelsea are obvious favourites and on paper this should be a no contest. On-loan Portsmouth midfielder Jamie O’Hara will decide with manager Avram Grant whether to play in the FA Cup final against Chelsea on Saturday. The Tottenham man would ordinarily be told to rest for eight weeks because of two stress fractures in his lower back.

Who will wear blue? After a toss of a coin, it was Chelsea who won and will wear their home strip, in the home dressing room. No omens there, but really you can’t see past Chelsea, no long write ups needed it is a Chelsea win and an easy one at that in my view.

Role Up For The £10 Million FA Cup Final!

William Hill are expecting industry turnover of ten million pounds plus for the FA Cup final as the Big punters are expected to come steaming in for 1/6 favourites Chelsea. “On paper the game is a mismatch but we think our high rollers will come steaming in for Chelsea to bolster their World Cup betting accounts,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.

One Hills punter from Hampshire stands to win £3000 should Portsmouth win, having backed them at 150/1 with £20 early on in the tournament but it is the Chelsea double that Hills fear with some massive liabilities.

Chelsea to Win the FA Cup Final…….

If this was a Premier League game, Chelsea would belong odds on. There is no reason why Chelsea should lose to Everton at Wembley.

Everton have had a good season and indeed overcame Manchester United in the semi-final. That was a dull game that was decided on penalties.

Chelsea coasted through, beating Arsenal in a decent game. As a neutral I can say that Chelsea are by far a better team than Everton and should win this game and salvage something from, for them, a below standard season.

When you look at the sides the only area where Everton may be better is in the managerial chair. David Moyes is an excellent manager, and Chelsea could do worse than offer him the vacant post at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have great players, world class players in almost every area and are used to the big game. Everton are a decent side, but as the Premier League table shows the big four have a monopoly and a victory for Chelsea will see yet another clean sweep for the big four in all competitions.

Didier Drogba will be Chelsea’s key man and has been in goal scoring form since Guus Hiddink arrived. Chelsea have had a pretty straightforward road to Wembley..This Video from Youtube is a good reminder of how Chelsea got to the final…

Can Everton stop the blues? No, says the market and anyone, but die hard Everton fans would have to agree. Chelsea held European Champions to a draw, twice and are just a class side. They can not be opposed and all we can hope for is that there is some value in the market to back Chelsea, or Lay Everton.
