Darren Williams has had his application for a riding licence turned down by the BHA. The news was welcomed by those wanting to clean up the sport of horseracing.

Darren Williams served a three-month suspension after admitting passing information for reward and associating with a disqualified person at a British Horseracing Authority disciplinary panel hearing in June The licensing committee said reasons for its decision will be available in the next seven days. Paul Struthers, media relations manager for the BHA, said in a statement:
“Until we receive the written reasons we do not know on what grounds the committee has reached its decision.”
