It’s the start of a really decent weekend of horseracing with good cards at both Ayr and at Newbury. Poets Place I see was the last out of the draw for the Ayr Gold Cup on Thursday, but I think it will be the first past the post on Saturday, 6-1 looks great value, get on now!
Delegator returns to action….. Free Horseracing Tips for Thursday…
2:35 Newbury, Delegator, Win. Despite an absence of 314 days Delegator should make a winning return to action in what is I race beneath his true grade. This is a group one horse and if fully fit, which he should be coming from the Godolphin stable, he should win this and get his career back on track. He has an official rating of 121 which is well ahead of anything else in the field with I think the main danger being Yaa Wayl who ran very well at York four weeks ago and runs here receiving weight, but it will be a big disappointment I think to connections is Delegator didn’t win.
3:10 Newbury, Rainbow Peak, Win. This race is billed as an Arc trial which is in truth a bit of a joke. I have not gone back in history but am prepared to eat my hat if a winner of this race has ever gone on to win the Arc. That said it stacks up as a decent group 3 contest and I am very much in the Rainbow Peak Camp. I am a big fan of Neil Callan but I have to say I don’t think his ride on Michael Jarvis’s four-year-old was his finest hour when second by a neck at York, I think Frankie Dettori got the better of him that day when Rainbow Peak should really have won the race. Today there it is another Godolphin horse who poses the main danger in receipt of seven pounds this race is there for the taking for Rainbow Peak, especially as Ted Durcan takes the ride on the top weight.
3:55 Ayr, Krypton Factor, Win. Krypton Factor should continue his winning streak with our win in a listed company with Seb Sanders making the long trip north of the border to ride for trainer Sir Mark Prescott. With a rating of 100 and still improving I make this one my best bet of the day, it would be a big shock were this one not to prevail. Seb Sanders is your archetypal no-nonsense jockey who gives absolutely everything whether it be a seller or the Derby and rarely, if ever, makes a tactical mistake. I think we can go for a nice tickle here!
Good luck!
