PUNTERS BACK ARLENE FOR SRICTLY RETURN

Paddy Power have slashed the odds on Arlene Phillips returning to the Strictly Come Dancing judging panel to 3/1after her replacement Alesha Dixon made a shaky debut on the show.

It was a case of out with the new and in with the old as furious fans swamped BBC message boards criticising the former Mis-Teeq star, and calling for choreographer Phillips to be reinstated.

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power said: “After Alesha’s far from fantastic start on Strictly, our punters are now more confident than ever that Arlene will be back. The BBC will no doubt be hoping the commotion dies down but after the recent reaction from fans, it looks unlikely to any time soon!”

Meanwhile, it was the X Factor who was the big winner at the weekend. X Factor wiped the floor with Strictly Come Dancing’s pulling in almost 2 million more viewers.

With still a few weeks to go Paddy Power are quoting 3/1 that Strictly can top X Factor’s viewing figures for the whole series while it’s 1/5 that X Factor stays at the top spot.
