Andy Murray 13/8 To Land a Grand Slam, #Tennis Betting

ANDY MURRAY is the 11/10 outsider to beat Novak Djokovic in the final of the Australian Open, according to Ladbrokes.

Andy Murray In Australian Final

The Scot completed a four-set semi-final victory to set up another Grand Slam final in Melbourne – and the bookies are dreading the prospect of their first major patriotic payout in tennis for decades.

David Williams of Ladbrokes said: “Murray is nearly always a shocking result for the bookies. He now has a following to rival Henman in his heyday and we’ll make no apologies for cheering on Djokovic.”

Ladbrokes offered a standout 8/1 about Murray winning the tournament earlier this month and another top-price 9/1 about the Serbian who is now the 4/6 favourite to triumph Down Under.

“With Federer and Nadal out of the way we fancied our chances of grabbing the cash, but we’re out of the frying pan and into the fire with Murray and Djokovic set to slog it out” added Williams.

Rafa Nadal Now 6/4 For Aus Open

RAFAEL NADAL is the 6/4 favourite for the Australian Open with Ladbrokes.

Rafael Nadal stormed past Croatia’s Marin Cilic into the Australian Open quarter-finals Monday in his bid to unite the Grand Slam titles, as Andy Murray went through and Robin Soderling crashed.

Andy Murray is 7/1 which is the same price about Novak Djokovic with Andy Roddick a 40/1 chance. It’s 12/1 that Nadal wins the Open without dropping a set and 50/1 Murray does the same.

Murray’s most likely stage of elimination appears to be the semi-finals as he is 11/8 to go out then, with 11/2 the price that he comes second in this tournament again.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “The big guns are moving ominously through the gears as the tournament heats up. We expect Murray to duck out at the semi final stage but it wouldn’t be a huge shock if progresses further.”

Hills had originally offering 8/1 for a completely dry fortnight but by the first Sunday it was an odds on shot at 5/6 and Hills have taken a hammering!

“We never expected to have a completely dry fortnight, and have as a result taken a bath on this one, oh how we have missed the Borg vs McEnroe replays,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.

Take Rafa Nadal 5/4 For Wimbledon, With No Federer To Stop Him

Rafa Nadal is 5/4 to win the Wimbledon Mens Singles ahead of the semi-final with Andy Murray. The winner of that match must surely lift the title, with Nadal having the edge.

The pair have met ten times in the past, Nadal leads 7 wins to 3. Nadal is number one in the World and a former Champion. They have met four times in grand slams and it is two wins each.On grass they have met once and Nadal was the winner on that occassion.

Nadal is a champion and now back from injury he he looks back to his best. On past form, on grass Nadal’s best is good enough to win Wimbledon and with Federer losing in the quarter-finals the path is clear, only Murray stands in his way. Though I am British, I feel that Nadal is just that bit stronger than Murray.

At 5/4 I am a backer. I make him a 10/11 shot and when he beats Andy Murray a 1/2 shot. In my bok 5/4 is value. Rafa Nadal will win Wimbledon in my view.

If I am wrong then I hope Andy Murray wins it. I have nothing against him, but I bet with my head not my heart.
