On Friday, prior to the Semi-Final with Andy Murray we advised Rafa Nadal to Win Wimbledon and he did so without dropping a set in the two matches.

Bookmakers William Hill have today paid out a five figure sum to punters who bet that rain would NOT stop play on court one for the whole Wimbledon championships. Hills had originally offering 8/1 for a completely dry fortnight but by the first Sunday it was an odds on shot at 5/6 and Hills have taken a hammering!

“We never expected to have a completely dry fortnight, and have as a result taken a bath on this one, oh how we have missed the Borg vs McEnroe replays,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.

Hills are 1/1 that Thames Water introduce a hosepipe ban this year, which would obviously be ban news for Wimbledon!

Rafa Nadal is 5/4 to win the Wimbledon Mens Singles ahead of the semi-final with Andy Murray. The winner of that match must surely lift the title, with Nadal having the edge.

The pair have met ten times in the past, Nadal leads 7 wins to 3. Nadal is number one in the World and a former Champion. They have met four times in grand slams and it is two wins each.On grass they have met once and Nadal was the winner on that occassion.

Nadal is a champion and now back from injury he he looks back to his best. On past form, on grass Nadal’s best is good enough to win Wimbledon and with Federer losing in the quarter-finals the path is clear, only Murray stands in his way. Though I am British, I feel that Nadal is just that bit stronger than Murray.

At 5/4 I am a backer. I make him a 10/11 shot and when he beats Andy Murray a 1/2 shot. In my bok 5/4 is value. Rafa Nadal will win Wimbledon in my view.

If I am wrong then I hope Andy Murray wins it. I have nothing against him, but I bet with my head not my heart.
