Dubai Prince was a highly impressive winner of the Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown on Monday. The famous Sheikh Mohammed colours had made a welcome return to the spotlight on Saturday when Irish raider Casamento took the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster.
William Hill have given Dubai Prince opening show quotes of 14-1 for both the Derby and the 2000 Guineas following his impressive victory in the Group 3 Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown on Monday. The son of Shamardal, who was sent off the 4-9 favourite, spread eagled the field in the final 2 ½ Furlongs of the race and was eventually returned a very easy 3 ½ lengths winner.
After the race his jockey Pat Smullen described the winner as High class and a real top drawer performer. Dubai Prince was a really impressive winner of the Killavullan, said Hills spokesman Tony Kenny Hes absolutely destroyed a decent field at Leopardstown and he must be considered a serious contender for next years Derby. Weve also put him in our Guineas betting, but his pedigree suggests hell do better over middle distances.
