Weekend Horseracing Tips, The Hitman on Saturday

Free Horseracing Tips from Carl 'The Hitman' Harris

By Carl Harris- The Hitman

Carl ‘The Hitman’ Harris takes aim at the weekend cards, can he hit the target with his value bets on a classic weekend of horseracing? Free Horseracing tips from racing diary…

It’s St Leger Day, in the UK and Ireland as well as a big day on Sunday over in France with Arc trials at Longchamp. The Doncaster card in my view is the best of the lot with three group races and some competitive handicaps for was to aim at. Racing diary readers hopefully took the advice and have already backed Rewilding at 6 to 1 for the St Leger. If he goes off at the forecast 11 to 10 then I am going to green up and take the profit, before the guaranteed win.

Today’s targets for The Hitman are as follows;

2:10 Doncaster, Saamidd, Win. Saeed Bin Suroor wastes no time in stepping up to a group 2 following what was an emphatic win at Newbury on debut for this son of Street Cry. He absolutely bolted up under Frankie Dettori drawing right away in the final furlong to record a seven length win. The handicapper was clearly impressed giving this one a rating of 103. Approve is rated much higher than the selection but I think there is so much more to come from Saamidd and he will prove in time to the have very good horse indeed. The stable one this last year with Poets Voice and as we know trainers are creatures of habit and it is significant that this one lines up here. I am very confident of hitting the target here and make this my best bet of the day.

Tissue Prices…2.10 Doncaster

4/1 Approve
500/1 Castlemorris King
33/1 Karam Albaari
5/6 Saamidd
9/4 Waiter’s Dream
33/1 Waltz Darling

2:45 Doncaster, Quest for Success, Win and Place (Each Way). Consistent is probably the best word I could use to describe Richard Fahey’s five-year-old who looks a solid each way proposition in the Portland handicap. His form last time out at York when third behind Hamish McGonagll of the same mark as today (100) stacks up pretty well and with the first four home paying out for each way backers I think we have a very good proposition here. Paul Hanagan is back following his stride a suspension and as he chases his first champion jockey title backers will not lack motivation from the saddle. The stable is going very well so with just about all the boxes ticked in very competitive race I am sure we will get a run for our money.

2.45 Doncaster

16/1 Masamah
14/1 Signor Peltro
12/1 Quest For Success
20/1 Judge ‘n Jury
25/1 Striking Spirit
16/1 Monsieur Joe
20/1 Noble Storm
16/1 Bay Knight
33/1 Arganil
11/2 Poet’s Place
16/1 Bajan Tryst
25/1 Johannes
33/1 Fol Hollow
16/1 Singeur
33/1 Hotham
12/1 Tiddliwinks
11/1 Hogmaneigh
20/1 Jack My Boy
33/1 Tawaabb
10/1 Deacon Blues
16/1 Duchess Dora
20/1 Confessional

Frankie Dettori rides for Godolphin

3.20 Doncaster, Rewilding, Win. Okay so this is the short priced favourite, but he was not when I first advised him for the St Leger before his run at York where he won in eye-catching fashion under Frankie Dettori. It is very likely he will go off a very short priced favourite and there is no value in backing him now, but we are sitting pretty and our 6 to 1 looks huge and we could quite happily take a profit on our bet. I will basically lay him for my initial stake back and watch him run with 5 to 1 bet to nothing in my possession. Dettori has a fabulous record in the St Leger and I think is a good thing here to land another classic.

3.20 Doncaster

8/1 Arctic Cosmos
66/1 Corsica
8/1 Dandino
8/1 Joshua Tree
9/1 Midas Touch
11/8 Rewilding
14/1 Ted Spread
40/1 Theology
40/1 Total Command
9/1 Snow Fairy

3:55 Doncaster, Premio Loco, Win. Chris Wall loves this horse and I suspect he is not the only one, I think he is fabulous and certainly on the evidence of his last run behind Canford Cliffs and Rip Van Winkle he should be a shoo-in here, taking a drop in class. There are not many horses rated 119 in training and he has easily the best rating in this field and the best form in the book. George Baker gets on particularly well with this horse and I think we may get a good price from our friends the layers here and I advise a good bet. This is my next best bet of the day.

3.55 Doncaster

12/1 Arabian Gleam
12/1 Balthazaar’s Gift
9/1 Cat Junior
20/1 Duff
25/1 Harrison George
13/2 High Standing
20/1 Himalya
8/1 Ouqba
25/1 Palace Moon
4/1 Premio Loco
33/1 Serious Attitude
11/2 Shakespearean
13/2 Rainfall

Ireland…

3:10 Curragh, Zoffany, Win. Johnny Murtagh said on Friday that this was just about the best two-year-old at Ballydoyle. You certainly get the impression that Aidan O’Brien is keen to win this race with four of the nine runners to his name. Johnny Murtagh’s mount clearly is the best of them with five wins from six starts including a group one victory last time out over this course and the step up in trip should be tailor-made for this son of Dansilli.

3.10 Curragh

20/1 A Word Apart
14/1 Casamento
8/1 Glor Na Mara
28/1 High Ruler
7/1 Janood
2/1 Pathfork
50/1 Rudolf Valentino
20/1 Samuel Morse
6/4 Zoffany

3:45 Curragh Profound Beauty, Win. The Irish St Leger is not confined only to 3-year-olds so in many ways is a better contest the  British equivalent. I think this boils down to an match between Profound Beauty and Sans Frontieres, from the Jeremy Noseda stable. Indeed the English raider, with a French jockey, has very strong form but I take the mare to continue her good form and land this group one prize.

3.45 Curragh

8/1 Kite Wood
25/1 Pop Rock
12/1 Rajik
9/4 Sans Frontieres
8/1 Tactic
7/4 Profound Beauty
8/1 Flying Cross
20/1 Lady Lupus
