A Japanese rider has died after being thrown from his bike following a collision at the San Marino Moto2 GP.
Shoya Tomizawa lost control of his bike and was struck by two other riders at full speed during the race. Neither Alex de Angelis nor British rider Scott Redding were able to avoid hitting the 19-year-old. Tomizawa,who rode for the Technomag-CIP team, was flown by helicopter to one hospital and then onto the Riccione hospital on the Adriatic coast.
But efforts to save him failed and he died at 2.20pm local time (13.20 BST). Read more on Sky News
