Johnny Murtagh rides Jan Vermeer in the Derby on Saturday
In days gone by, Thursday would have been Epsom Derby day. Instead today is the eve of the Epsom Derby meeting. When you look at what is coming, it is a shame to bet today!
Johnny Murtagh has confirmed he will ride Jan Vermeer in Saturdays Investec Derby at Epsom.
I am really looking forward to Epsom with Fridays Oaks and Corronation Cup then The Derby and Epsom Dash on Saturday. Sandown is the night meeting many go to on the way to Epsom.
I have only one free horseracing tip on Friday. A small bet at Sandown;
8:25 Sandown Direct Answer can go one better than a promising debut at Lingfield last month. This is of course his first go on turf, but I wouldn’t worry about that and with Ryan Moore totting up the winners I am sure this one will win on his way to bigger prizes later on.
Then its all systems go for Epsom. Friday will be a top class day of horseracing.
