Andy Murray Flops Again

Angry Andy Murray was heading back to England last night to prepare for Wimbledon after being dumped out of the French Open. The world No.4, a quarter-finalist at Roland Garros last year, was beaten in the fourth round by Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic.

Murray, who came from two sets and a break down against Richard Gasquet in the first round, could not repeat the trick in a rain-interrupted contest yesterday evening and went down 6-4 7-5 6-3.

WILLIAM HILL make Andy Murray a 3/1 chance to retire without ever winning one of the four Major Opens – the Aussie, French, US and Wimbledon.

‘We still feel Andy has it in him to win a Grand Slam tournament – and he is 2/9 to do so before he retires – but with each passing opportunity there are more players capable of beating him to it’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Hills now make Murray 2/5 to end this season without a Major to his name; 9/4 to win one of the remaining two this season, and 20/1 to win both Wimbledon and the US Open.

Murray is 4/1 third favourite for Wimbledon with Hills behind 6/4 favourite Roger Federer and 3/1 Rafa Nadal. I wouldn’t be rushing in to take that price or any price about Murray to win at Wimbledon, I hope he does, but I won’t be backing him that is for sure. Will you?
