5:00 Kempton, Latansaa looks the best bet on a low-key Bank Holiday Monday card at Kempton. Tregoning’s horses were all wrong last season but they have started this campaign in great nick, which is good to see. This well-bred three-year-old is having his third start having shown enough ability already to suggest winning a maiden should be a formality. Third on his debut at Newbury last October, he filled the same position on his seasonal reappearance back in Berkshire in April. Beaten only three-quarters of a length two weeks ago, he should strip even fitter for that run. Those to have run look nothing out of the ordinary so hopefully Latansaa can open his account in the second division of the Victor Chandler Maiden.
2:55 Windsor Aspro Mavro; John Gosden’s string may not be in the same electric form they were at this time last year but he is still having his fair share of winners. The master of Clarehaven Stables sends Aspro Mavro to Windsor after a recent success at Yarmouth and he holds strong prospects of following up. One of Gosden’s lesser lights, it has taken a while for the penny to drop and he had to work very hard to open his account. That will have boosted his confidence and the return to a quicker surface should also suit in the It doesn’t Get Better Than Barbados Handicap.

3:25 Windsor Colonel Carter; Another to note could be Brian Meehan’s Colonel Carter, who actually won the maiden in which Latansaa finished third recently. He takes his chance in the Virgin Holidays Handicap.
3:20 Beverley King Fingal can atone for a recent near-miss at Pontefract in the Beverley Rotary Club Handicap. He has been campaigned almost exclusively at a mile and a half recently but he is without a win since he last ran over 10 furlongs back in October 2008. That came off exactly the same mark and with the improving Ian Brennan taking a useful 5lb off, he must have a good chance.
3:50 Beverley Just Lille could run well at a big price in the Garden Fete In The Course Enclosure Handicap. Ann Duffield has experimented with the mare by running her over staying trips but despite winning over a mile and three-quarters at Warwick, arguably her best form is over shorter. She has certainly dropped to a winnable mark.
