Andy Murray lost his first clay-court match of the season in straight sets to Germany’s Philipp Kohlschreiber at the Monte Carlo Masters. The 22-year-old Scot was out of sorts on Court Central as he was broken five times in total by Kohlschreiber, the world 33, to lose 6-2 6-1 in just over an hour. The loss continued the world number four’s poor form since reaching the Australian Open final, which has seen him now exit his last two tournament at the first time of asking.
Hills offer 4/9 that Andy Murray fails to win a Grand Slam in 2010 but despite his lack of form he is 13/8 to win exactly one. Murray is favourite to make it as far as the semi-finals at Wimbledon offering 9/4 he does and 3/1 that he wins.
“Murray is having a shocker at present but the next major is some time away and punters who have backed him to win a Grand Slam in 2010 should not despair just yet,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.
