Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is fit to face AC Milan in Wednesday night’s Champions League showdown.
Wayne Rooney had been rated as a major doubt for the second leg of the last-16 clash at Old Trafford after a knee injury ruled him out of Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Wolves.
AC Milan’s David Beckham says he is excited to face Manchester United at Old Trafford for the first time but maintains he wants them to lose. The midfielder will line up against his former club in the Champions League last 16 second-leg tie, with AC Milan needing to overturn a 3-2 deficit.
Our Verdict…
The crucial aspect is that Manchester United have three away goals, so a 1-0 loss will see them through. Manchester United do not need to win the game but if they do they are through. That is the reality of the situation. I think they will win the game in 90 minutes and progress through to the next round of the Champions League.
Sir Alex Ferguson is the best manager in world football. Sir Alex though admits “I am finding it difficult to pick their team, I don’t know whether Beckham will start. ”
Beckham of course makes an emotional return to Old Trafford but he is not the player he was with the reds having a new icon in Wayne Rooney, who is the key man in the game. On current form you would say Rooney will socre, with a header to win the game! if only it was that easy to predict! That said, Rooney is the key man and United have this game in their sights.
Manchester United to Win in 90 minutes is our bet.
Under or over 2.5 goals? Under for me…
This is what Sir Alex Ferguson had to say after the defeat in Milan.
