It was a shocker of a day on Monday and Tuesday is not much better. There is an inspection at Southwell on Tuesday at 8am, which must look doubtful given the weather.
Taunton should be fine and Lingfield provides the all-weather action. The good news is that Cheltenham starts three weeks today. I cant’ wait, at least we get a decent day of racing on a Tuesday. Here are Tuesdays Free Horseracing Tips from Racing Diary, over the jumps and Southwell and Taunton.
3:30 Southwell, Banjaxed Girl- Win. This is a game mare who just keeps on winning. Up against her own sex she will have to give seven pounds and more to her rivals, a task which she should be more than up to, in my view. Evella would rank as the main danger, but her run last time was shockingly bad but even if back to her best Banjaxed Girl should beat her.

3:20 Taunton, Grands Cru- Win. Last time out Grands Cru bolted up by eight lengths at Plumpton, a run full of future potential. Despite having a seven pounds penalty for that win it would be a race that connections would be disappointed not to win. Not a strong contest, Grands Cru is my bet of the day.
Cheltenham is only three weeks away;
Three Weeks today- The Champion Hurdle
I am interested to see how Bothy (4:20) runs, making the long trip again to Taunton from Brian Ellison’s North Yorkshire base. This horse is spoken about in glowing terms by the trainer and is heading for the Fred Winter handicap at Cheltenham. I would want to see a much better performance than last time and against older horses here – worth watching in the market. Fancied by connections I am told.
