Mondays Horseracing Tips, 22 Feb

Sundays horseracing was a total whiteoutin the UK and Ireland. Market Rasen has already been abandoned due to snow and there are inspections at Carlisle (8am) and Wolverhampton with Southwell (which was off on Sunday) looking on Monday ahead of Tuesday.

At present it looks like the only horseracing card that will be on is the one at Lingfield. I will not be betting over jumps at Carlisle, although the course is optimistic that the meeting will be on. I suggest that we take a look at the all weather action for Monday.

4:40 Lingfield, Sir Edwin Lancer- Win. A seller, a poor race, but one that sums up the day. This is a race that he should really win and if not then it will be difficult for Gary Moore to ever get a win out of this fellow. I would play minimum stakes but this should go to Sir Edwin Lancer.

All Weather action on Monday

3:45 Wolverhampton, Ancient Times- Win. There are eight races at Wolverhampton, a shockingly bad card. Ancient Times was a beaten favourite on the Southwell fibresand last time. I suspect the move to polytrack indicates that the surface was not to his liking. This is a poor race and as we know Mark Johnstons runners tend to come on for their debuts. This is the best bet of the day in my view, and that would still be mimimum stakes.
