4:00 Doncaster – I really like JASS as an outright win bet here on the provisio he is jumping nicely and in good rhythm early doors. Thats the thing with him he can often get into trouble early if he isnt jumping well. He wont his race last year and showed superior stamina and I see a similar scenario should he jump well. an outright 1pt win bet is the call.

2:50 Wetherby – WEIRD AL is the account bet but with KNOCKARA BEAU making it we may get a bigger price in running, I think this horse is a good thing because the longer trip will make him beat KNOCKARA further than he did last time. So if you can get bigger in running then dont be afraid to top up.

2:3 Lingfield – With zero pace here I can see a very god trade here in LAST KING OF SCOTLAND for Jim Best. Ths horse has a touch of class but has been going the wrong way. The first time blinkers and Paul Doe booked suggests they are going to make the running with this one and given his class over this lot he’s going to be trading quite a bit shorter from an early stage. A 2pt back bet before the off followed by a lay somewhere in the 2 point somethings could prove very rewarding. Look to bail out and take a loss should this horse not make the lead or ridden differently.

2:25 Doncaster – MAD MAX is sure to be all the rage but the very much underrated mare IM DELILAH looks to be an excellent back to lay here. Despite all the hype about the huge MAD MAX he’s yet to record anything like a decent timefigure to back up his visually impressive performances in small fields. The Ferdy Murphy mare I think is value at around 5/1 given that she clearly likes this track and more importantly for us should be a nice back to lay as I can see her making the running here,, we could easily nick one and a half to two points for little work here. So a back to lay is recommended on IM DELILAH to a 1pt stake before the off laying off at a couple of points shorter in play or at your own discression.

2:20 Wetherby – The likely strong pace here should play into the hands of BIBLE LORD and REGAL HEIGHTS here. Both are not shoe ins given that the former has jumping problems and REGAL HEIGHTS hasn’t been right for a while but they both have a touch of class and it only needs one of them to come good here and conditions are absolutely ideal for one of them to strike today. I recommend two outright back bets before the off equivalent to 1pt unit stakes on each.

TATAWOR traded at 3.0 I ended up laying 4.0 to recover the 1pt loss on SONOWYOUNO who did trade as low as 4.9 I believe

2:00 Lingfield – TATAWOR has completely gone at the game, not even responding to blinkers. The key here is laying him in running at under the betfair SP as he can travel well in his races and may look to have a deceptively good chance of winning. He doesn’t find anything for pressure so the shorter you can lay him at the better.

1:55 Doncaster SONOWYOUNO is better than his current handicap mark and providing he is not ridden too negatively here is up to winning a race such as this. Check out his position in the early stages but dont rush to go in at much shorter than Betfair SP. Ask for small stakes at around Betfair SP for an outright back bet. This horse can come off the bridle as he doesn’t quicken instantly so the patient amongst you may want to wait until he is niggled before obtaining better odds. The key will be his positioning because at the last meeting all the winners at Doncaster were ridden prominently. We will start here to small stakes – euqivallent to a pt stake on the main account.
