Over 14,000 racegoers were left disappointed by the abandonment of racing at Leopardstown as fog unexpectedly descended onto the track moments before the Lexus Chase was due to take place.
The good news is that the Lexus Chase will now be run on Tuesday. The Lexus Chase has been saved and will be staged as the fourth race on Tuesday afternoon, although it will be minus several leading jockeys including Ruby Walsh and Barry Geraghty as both have commitments at Newbury.
What was interesting is that Cooldine was hammered in the run up to the race, backed in to 3/1 favourite. This was a very interesting move. Willie Mullins had said the horse may need the run but the money spoke volumes.
Cooldine may now be worth a bet at the early prices, as he is sure to be supported again by the Leopardstown crowd.
