Thursdays Horseracing Tips, 3 December

We have three jumps meetings on Thursday with cards at Wincanton, Leicester and Market Rasen. The rain claimed Plumpton on Wednesday so a couple of intended runners have been declared for today, making it quite an interesting day.

The rain looks like claiming a few big name runners in Saturday’s Tingle Creek Chase. Forpadydeplasterer is the latest to sight ground concerns at Sandown. I hope the race attracts a decent field but they are dropping like flies. Crack Away Jack and Tidal Bay have already sent their apologies. I like the look of Big Zeb but I will wait for the declarations before making any predictions. We will see these on Thursday morning.

Here are my best bets for Thursday;

13:45 Wincanton, Master Overseer- Win. David Pipe has some very well handicapped horses at Pond House and runs two of them today starting with Master Overseer. A 16 length winner last time out the six year-old reappears here quickly under a penalty in a conditional jockeys race. He is entered on Friday and Sunday which indicates that connections feel he is very well in. This looks a golden opportunity to make some money.

Forpadydeplasterer- doubt for Tingle Creek

15:15 Wincanton, Carrickmines- Win.  Was due to run at Plumpton on Wednesday which was called off. A winner last week, a very easy one by eighteen lengths, Carrickmines is sure to go up significantly in the weights and therefore is out again under a penalty. His six opponents are not in winning form and it looks as though the race is at the mercy of Dr Newland’s charge with the excellent Daryl Jacob in the saddle.

15:35 Leicester, Quinte Du Chatelet- Win. Another well handicapped resident of Pond House reappears following an impressive ten length win last time out at Uttoxeter and goes here under a penalty. He will carry a huge weight here but looks the answer in an otherwise moderate looking handicap. Unlike Master Overseer he doesn’t hold any further entries this week but after lumping that weight around for two miles he will need a long rest. He should win if the form book means anything.
