Aintree takes centre stage with the Becher Chase and Grand Sefton Handicap, a truly excellent card for a Sunday. I have said it before, there are not enough decent Sunday meetings in the UK.Let’s hope the weather improves after serious rain and that we can enjoy a decent day of racing.
12:35 Aintree, Bible Lord- Win and Place. A non-runner in last weeks Paddy Power Gold Cup, Bible Lord, trained by Andrew Turnell who won the Bet365 chase at Wetherby a couple of weeks ago now reappears here off a mark of 143. I think he is a very attractive win and place proposition. Certainly if he gives weight to this field and wins, he is a horse to take seriously this season.
13:45 Aintree, Vic Venturi- Win. The Becher Chase is run over the national course and I think top weight Vic Venturi has the class to put up a weight carrying performance and win. He was a good winner last time in heavy going at Clonmel. I also think that the Irish raider may be well handicapped and with Paddy Flood taking the ride Vic Venturi is my best bet of the day.
Carl Harris’ Best Bets for Sunday 22 November
- 12:35 Aintree, Bible Lord- Win and Place
- 13:45 Aintree, Vic Venturi- Win.
