Calzaghe to floor rivals…

Its Wednesday and I am back in full flow now. Jumping takes place at Hexham and Market Rasen with flat racing at Lingfield and Kempton in the evening.

In truth it is not very exciting today, but for me being back to normality, with my personal MOT intact is fantastic! I am sticking to jumps with a bet at Hexham and Market Rasen.

13:20 Hexham- Cross Kennon, Win. No prizes for originality with Cross Kennon having won his last three races and four out of his last five starts for trainer Jennie Candlish. Under a penalty here, following an impressive win at Uttoxeter on Saturday, I do not expect the weight to anchor him. The ground will make it testing but that seems to suit as the form figures bear out.

Calzaghe (NAP)

Calzaghe (NAP)

15:40 Market Rasen- Calzaghe, Win. I have thought long and hard about napping one in an amateur riders race, usually I give these races a miss. However Gemma Gracey-Davison is a very good jockey and in this context can be backed with confidence. Calzaghe was a ready winner over course and distance on Sunday having previously been rejuvenated by Jim Best on the flat. Cumbrian Knight ran on late last time out representing the biggest danger here, but Calzaghe should have too much fire power to pack a punch and floor his rivals here. Puns aside Calzaghe is my Nap of the day.
