Two jumps meetings and an all-weather card, the shape of things to come for the next few months. November marked its arrival with some serious wind and rain, a reminder that it is winter and don’t we know it! Racing starts really early and we have one in the first at kempton, so don’t miss it.

12:50 Kempton- Slip, Win

Slip (12:50) was a very good winner on his debut for Tim Vaughan at Stratford, winning a maiden hurdle by six lengths. Tony McCoy is an eye-catching booking and the race revolves around whether Slip can give seven pounds to the field and still come out on top. I would suggest he will improve for that first start for the yard and over hurdles and could be quite a decent horse. Though not the best price in the world there may be a few layers looking to get him beaten giving us some value.

3:05 Kempton- Duc De Regniere, Win

Duc De Regniere (15:05) will not be much of a price, although I saw one tissue with him at 5/4. There are only four runners but it is quite competitive nonetheless. Barry Geraghty had a shocker on Saturday and will be looking for as many winners as possible to pay for his twelve day ban and Duc De Regniere can provide a decent percentage in this £30,000 added contest. Nicky Henderson’s seven year-old was last seen in a grade one hurdle and looks the type to make a smart chaser. It he is any sort of price I would recommend a decent bet.

4:50 Wolverhampton- Day Care, Win

The final race of the day can go to Day Care (16:50) who has gone close on his last two outings at Dundalk. Irish raiders are doing well over here and this mat be another well handicapped runner from over the water. In a poor looking class six handicap, serious opposition is somewhat thin on the ground but market confidence or otherwise is worth noting. A serious drift would be a turn off and I would suggest waiting until they are loading before making a decision as to whether or not to back Day Care. I think though the trip to the Midlands track should be worthwhile.
