Another Treble Recommended….
Thursday is the first day of Ayr’s Western Meeting with the big race on Saturday, the Ayr Gold Cup looking, at this stage, like a very competitive sprint, as always. I will give Ayr a miss today but I am sure to return there tomorrow. The weekend also sees the Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury, its all very exciting.
We were touched off by a short-head on Tuesday for the treble, but delivered two out of three winners. On Wednesday the double was landed in good style, so four from five in the past two days. I recommend another multiple today, combining the doubles and a treble. Thursday’s action comes from Ayr, Pontefract, Yarmouth and Wolverhampton with a host of very good bets to be struck.
4.40 Yarmouth- Veiled, Win (NAP)
Veiled (4.40) only ran, and won, on Monday at Redcar and can follow up at the other end of the country on Thursday. The three length triumph means a six pounds penalty but Sir Mark, the master trainer, has booked seven pound claimer Rossie Jessop so Veiled is actually better off today. There should be little standing in the way of a quick fire double with the race shaping up as a match with Saborido. Veiled is my best bet of the day.

All Weather card at Wolves tonight
5.00 Pontefract- Alainmaar, Win
Alainmaar (5.00) ran a very good race on his racecourse debut to finish second in a much stronger maiden at Newmarket. The only worry I have is what the price is going to be, I can not see anything beating Alainmaar.
5.40 Wolverhampton- Aeroplane, Win
Aeroplane (5.40) should be too good for this lot in this claimer on the polytrack. With a rating of 101 he should laugh at the field, he has so much in hand on official ratings and even if the mark flatters him there is no excuse for failure. I would add him to the multiple bet with confidence.
Carl Harris Best Bets for Thursday, 17th September
4.40 Yarmouth- Veiled, Win (NAP)
5.00 Pontefract- Alainmaar, Win
5.40 Wolverhampton- Aeroplane, Win
