Sea The Stars will leave them seeing stars….
Sea the Stars is the Superstar on show today at Sandown, and if you are a regular reader of Racing Diary then you will be sitting pretty with an 11/10 voucher about the dual classic winner. You are looking at 4-6 at the time of writing and I would not be surprised to see Sea the Stars go as low as 1-2.
Sea the Stars is seeking to become the first horse since Naswan in 1989 to add the Coral Eclipse to his 2000 Guineas and Epsom Derby victories. The Derby form was franked at The Curragh and honestly you cannot look past Sea the Stars for the Eclipse (3.15).
William Hill Prices (click to back)
4-6 Sea the Stars, 4-1 Conduit, 5-1 Rip Van Winkle, 10-1 Cima de Triomphe, 16-1 Twice Over, 66-1 Jukebox Jury, 150-1 Steele Tango, 200-1 Malibu Bay, 250-1 Lang Shining, Set Sail (EW 1/5 1,2,3)
Racing Diary says Sea The Stars will win the Eclipse!
There is some really good racing at both Sandown and Haydock. The best race and best bet is definately Sea The Stars but I will also be backing a couple at more sporting prices. High Heeled in the Lancashire Oaks (Haydock 2.55) takes a significant drop in class following her third last time to Sariska in The Oaks. 7/4 looks a great bet for a filly with plenty in hand on the form book.
Drill Sergeant (Haydock 3.30) looks a rock solid each-way bet in the Old Newton Cup. Mark Johnston has been racking up the winners and Drill Sergeant was a good winner at Royal Ascot last time. A tough and consistent type 9-1 looks a decent price about a horse who always gives his running.
Triple Aspect (Sandown 2.05) is likely to be very popular in the Coral 5 furlong charge. Rated the best horse in the race the stable is in great form and this horse has won twice over course and distance, the last time in listed grade. With a rating of 114, and still potentially improving, we may not have seen the best of this son of Danetime yet. I will be backing him to win.
Judgethemoment (4.20 Sandown) missed the Northumberland Plate last week and runs here in the Coral Marathon. With Richard Hughes aboard this could be one to back. Three wins from three outings this season is impressive and a four timer looks a big possibility at Sandown.
