Its off to Haydock for Two Impressive Last Time Out Winners…
Lots of sunshine around today and I would usually have no hesitation in going to York, my favourite and local course but the card at Haydock is much better than York today. I have two really serious bets there today, so it’s down the M62 I go.
I am sure we will have a winner in the first race (2.05) – a listed 5f sprint, in which I will be backing Royal Rock who won very easily last time out after a year off the course.
Well backed that day he landed a bit of a touch for Chris Wall who had him so spot on that he was able to canter to victory, making quite highly rated horses look pretty moderate.
I put Royal Rock in my notebook that day, I was hugely impressed by such an easy win. The drop in trip will suit and I will be surprised if there anything good enough to beat him today. Very confident bet today, Royal Rock.
Another horse that won in breathtaking style last time out was Main Aim (3.05) who made a mockery of his handicap mark at Newbury. He won by 7 lengths, so easily that the handicapper has added 14 pounds to his official mark to which Sir Michael Stoute has responded by running him in this group 3 race.
I think Main Aim will prove to be better than this grade, I actually think he could be a group 1 horse who should land this John of Gaunt Stakes on the way to bigger and better prizes later in the season. I rate him as the good thing of the day and I will have my biggest bet of the season on Main Aim today.
Its a really good day at Haydock and these two should see us in profit, yet again!
