A tremendous jumps card gets the five day Punchestown Festival underway today with Dual Champion Chaser Master Minded (6.05) being the headline act on show. The best rated chaser in the World will face five rivals but is so far ahead of them that he should win with the minimum of fuss. The price of 1.32 is not one for everyone, the phrase ‘easy money’ is over used in betting, but I think this really is easy money. Master Minded should amble round and come home well clear for a bloodless win. There will be some sizable bets staked on Master Minded today, one of them mine!

Ruby Walsh had an amazing Cheltenham Festival last month and that could be the story at Punchestown, certainly if his rides today are anything to go by. Walsh partners Hurricane Fly (4.20) for Willie Mullins who should win readily and gain some compensation for missing Cheltenham.  1.62 is a short price, but this top class novice should win readily.

RSA Chase winner Cooldine (6.40) is in action again with Ruby Walsh taking the ride, immediately after getting off Master Minded.  Cooldine is on offer to back at 1.85 this morning, another short price but will be much shorter should Walsh have notched up the expected wins in the earlier races.

There is a theme developing here, follow Ruby Walsh and it looks to be a tailor-made treble. A Betfair Multiple Bet on Hurricane Fly, Cooldine and Master Minded will pay 3.6, 2.6 times your stake as a profit. Three short prices become an attractive return on what looks to be a very good bet.

I see Master Minded as nailed on, Hurricane Fly is a high class horse with only one serious rival and Cooldine showed his class at Cheltenham.

Whilst I appreciate that accidents can happen, this is one of the best trebles I have see in a long while and I am going to have a decent bet on three top class horses.
