Evening racing at Cheltenham is a wonderful experience, assuming of course the weather is fine, and tomorrow’s meeting will be all the sweeter with a couple of winners.
The two good things on the card are Bensalem (5.35) and Chapoturgeon (6.10). Bensalem was ruled out of the Albert Bartlett because of a bad scope and would have put up a good performance. He was beaten in January, just by Diamond Harry and really should win this Class 2 Novice Hurdle readily. The Racing Post tissue of 8/13 is in line with last night’s Betfair Betting Exchange price. It is a short price, but it looks great value because this horse is way ahead of the field.
Cheltenham Festival Winner Chapoturgeon went from hero to zero at Aintree when he fell at the very first fence. Assuming he jumps over the fences like he did in March then he is a good bet to double up with Bensalem, but his price of 1.4 (at time of writing) is a bit too short. The double should pay a nice amount and both horses have their races to lose.
