After a day off its Back to Business for us punters today. The Best card today is at Kempton where the highlight is the Easter Stakes. My best bet of the day runs in that race at a lovely price which is on the Members Service. The Kempton card looks fairly good, but like Richard Hannon I do think the whole day could have shaped up much better.
I really like the look of Mr Willis (4.50) who I have made my Nap in the paper. He won very well on both his starts so far this year and with the John Best stable in such good form he could win again today at a pretty decent price. Certainly on Betfair he is a value bet.
In the first race (2.05) Neil Callan has a great strike rate when riding for Clive Brittain and has a very strong each-way chance on Mahadee. If nothing else he is great value at the 10-1 on Betfair this morning. There will be some gasps from some readers who have accused me of only backing favourites, but I back horses which I think will win or in this case are good value at least for a place.
Over the jumps there is not much to get excited about and I tend to ease of on the jumps this time of year as many horses have either had a long season or are starting their summer campaigns which usually reflects in the results. Sadly there are more jumps cards today than flat. The good news is the flat gets in full swing next week with The Craven Meeting. Certainly for The Craven Stakes the entry looks very exciting. The Guineas markets are hotting up too. I have had a great word for Delegator and also Rainbow View looks a solid bet for the fillys classic. Naaqoos was beaten in France on Good Friday and now looks a doubt for the Guineas. That was the big news on Friday from France!
Have a go at The Scoop 6 today. We have an excellent guide for you this morning. It should be a good weekend and on Monday its The Irish National. I have a great bet for you and have previewed the race for you already.
The Free Lays continue and we have 3 for you today at Layform.
